Priceless Planet

This year more Santander customers have chosen to go paper-free than ever before. These customers will save 13.5 million sheets of paper and 9 million envelopes each year.

To recognise this milestone we’ve joined the Mastercard® Priceless Planet Coalition to help create a more sustainable environment for the next generation. For each customer that signs up to paper-free between 1 November 2021 and 31 December 2021 we’ll pay to plant a tree on their behalf through the Priceless Planet Coalition.

What does paper-free mean?

Going paper-free means receiving all eligible documents, statements and letters online and not by post. This includes changes to your account terms and arrears notices. You can go paper-free on Santander current accounts, savings and credit cards.

We’ll email you when you have new documents, and post them to your  e-documents online, where you can then view, print or save them securely using either Online Banking or the mobile app. Not only is this better for the environment but it also makes your documents more secure and accessible.

You can view your statement on the day it’s produced, rather than waiting for it to arrive in the post. We’ll even send you an email to let you know that it’s there.

How can I go paper-free?

You can switch to receiving all documents, statements, and letters paper-free using  Online Banking or our mobile app. For a step-by-step guide visit our page on Your Statements.

You can download our app on your mobile phone or device from the iOS App Store or the Google Play Store. Just click on one of the logos below to get started. We don’t ever recommend downloading apps from other third-party sites.

What is the Mastercard Priceless Planet Coalition?

Human activity increasingly puts our planet’s most essential forests at risk. The Priceless Planet Coalition aims to plant 100 million trees designed to combat this urgent and very real threat. It employs a forest restoration model dedicated not only to the planting of 100 million trees by 2025 but also to the regrowing of forests in geographies that represent the greatest global need. Areas with the greatest potential for positive impacts on climate, community and biodiversity goals will be prioritised as the coalition sets out to restore forestland across the globe.

For more information you can visit the dedicated Mastercard Priceless Planet page.

What’s Santander’s role?

Along with other global companies Santander has become a coalition partner.  Our promise is for each customer that signs up to paper-free between 1 November 2021 and 31 December 2021 we’ll pay to plant a tree on the customer’s behalf.  We’ll continually look for ways to support the initiative each year.

For joint accounts a tree is planted for each customer that opts into paper-free. You can only opt in for yourself. Therefore for two trees to be planted both joint account holders must opt in between 1 November 2021 and 31 December 2021 separately.

So sign up for paper-free in moments and we’ll pay for your tree to be planted.
