MET Medical Ltd, a St Albans based private ambulance service, has purchased six additional emergency response vehicles and hired 20 new staff following £300,000 funding from Santander Business Banking. MET Medical was established in 2014 by Dave Hawkins as a private ambulance service to carry out urgent, routine and emergency ambulance transfers from hospitals, care homes and private residences.

The new premises, which are double the size of the previous salon, are located in a Grade 2 listed building on Victoria Street and will allow the firm to expand its employee numbers and training academy.

Disability charity, Kangaroos Mid Sussex, has received £5,000 to fund a new support group with the aim of helping members move from the charity’s teenage club to programmes focused on adults. This new ‘transition’ group will offer a range of stimulating activities, including cooking and craft sessions, for people with learning disabilities who are aged 16 to 21 and living in and around Haywards Heath.
