Mike Regnier, Chief Executive

Mike Regnier was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Santander UK on 1 April 2022. 

Mike joined Santander UK from Yorkshire Building Society (‘YBS’), where he was a Board member since 2014 and Chief Executive since 2017.  He previously held the posts of Chief Commercial Officer and Chief Customer Officer, having joined YBS in 2014.

Mike began his career in strategic management consulting with a focus on Retail and Retail Financial Services.  After management positions at Asda, he joined the banking sector and held a number of senior positions at Lloyds Banking Group, including Personal Current Accounts, Credit Cards Director and Products and Marketing Director for TSB.   He  has served as a Board Director of Visa UK, and Chairman of the merchant acquirer LTSB Cardnet.  He was also Chair of the Building Societies Association from 2019 – 2021.

Mike holds a Meng in Engineering, Economic  & Management from Oxford, together with an MBA from Insead. 

Angel Santodomingo, Chief Financial Officer

Angel Santodomingo was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Santander UK on 5 March 2024.

Angel joined Santander Group in 2005 as Head of International Development and Asset Management and subsequently became Head of Investor Relations. In 2014, he moved to Brazil and became CFO and Investor Relations Officer of Banco Santander Brazil, a role he held for nine years as well as Board Director. In 2023, Angel returned to Spain becoming Group Head of Strategy and Chief of Staff to the Executive Chair, working directly for the Santander Group Executive Chair. He has also been Board Director of several companies, CFA Spain President and author of a series of books and articles about Markets, Finance Analysis and Equity Valuation.

Angel has a Bachelor degree in Economics & Finance and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
 

Enrique Alvarez Labiano, Chief Executive Officer of Retail and Business Banking

Enrique Alvarez Labiano was appointed as an Executive Director of Santander UK on 12 February 2025.

Enrique joined Santander Group in 2015 as Deputy Head of Strategy and then moved on to become Group Head of Strategy and Chief of Staff to the Executive Chair, working directly for the Santander Group Executive Chair.  During that time he led the Insurance Business for Santander Group and was in charge of Responsible Banking.  In 2019 he moved to the UK joining the Executive Committee as Head of Strategy and Corporate Development. He was appointed Chief People Officer in 2020 and subsequently Head of Everyday Banking in 2021. He’s been CEO of Retail and Business Banking since 2023. 

Enrique started his career as an engineer in the automotive industry in Germany and then moved on to management consulting at McKinsey & Company (2007-2015) where he was a Partner leading strategic programmes and client relationships for financial institutions in Europe and the Americas. 

He holds a MEng in Engineering from ICAI, Pontificia Comillas University, and a MBA from Insead.
