St Mary’s University in Twickenham and Santander have signed a new three-year partnership agreement that will provide, among other activities, scholarships for students to study at the University.

The agreement was signed by the Vice-Chancellor of St Mary’s University, Francis Campbell, and Matt Hutnell, Director of Santander Universities in the UK, at a ceremony held at St Mary’s University. The ceremony was also attended by Javier Rogla, Global Head of Santander Universities, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research and Enterprise, Rt Hon Ruth Kelly, as well as other members of the University and representatives of Santander.

Through this new partnership, Santander will fund: scholarships for students from Brazil to study at St Mary’s; internships within local SMEs; as well as the annual careers show. Santander’s financial support will also enable St Mary’s students to develop their entrepreneurial skills, by providing funding to support 40 students studying a Business Start-Up module at St Mary’s University Business School.

Santander Universities was launched by Santander in 1997 with the primary aim for universities to share goals of internationalisation, transfer of knowledge and fostering of entrepreneurial skills. This new agreement marks the 82nd partnership for Santander Universities in the UK. The Bank has established partnerships with over 1,200 universities in 20 countries.
