Santander UK today announces that it has appointed Louise Shield as the Director of Corporate Communications with effect from 1st August 2016.
As a member of the Executive Team, reporting to CEO Nathan Bostock, Louise will be responsible for devising and implementing Santander UK’s external and internal communications strategy as well as leading on Public Affairs.
Louise has over 17 years' communications experience in both the private and public sectors. She joins from FTSE 100 insurer RSA where she has been Director of Communications since 2010, leading on the communications strategy for the Group. During her time with the insurer, she has managed a broad range of reputational and strategic issues, alongside running a number of award winning consumer focussed campaigns.
Jennifer Scardino, as Head of International Communications for the Santander Group, also has a reporting line from Louise for all of her functions. Jennifer will remain on the UK Executive Committee.
