- Santander supporting 11 Pride events this summer with branches across the UK displaying rainbow livery and Santander Cycles flying the rainbow flag during Pride in London
- Bank’s LGBT+ network has grown rapidly in four years
Santander UK is supporting 11 Pride festivals across the UK in 2018, with participation led by members of the bank’s Embrace Network, which provides leadership and support on LGBT+ related matters for its members, colleagues and customers.
The Embrace Network’s members participated in Pride Birmingham in May and this week, will be taking part in Pride in London events, culminating in the Parade on 7 July. Staff will also join Pride events in Glasgow, Bristol, Liverpool, Belfast, Leeds, Manchester, Hull, Cardiff and Cornwall over the summer.
Santander branches in participating cities will display bespoke event branding such as the Santander logo and flame becoming rainbow coloured, and rainbow arcs and circles decorating the ATMs. ATM and branch screens will also display the message #SantanderSupportsPride. In London, a number of Santander Cycles will also be branded with the rainbow livery and the message #EveryLoveMatters.

It’s been fantastic to see our Embrace Network grow so quickly over the past few years and we are delighted to be supporting so many Pride events this summer, showing our strong commitment to the LGBT+ community.”
The support for Pride is a key activity of the bank’s Embrace Network, which since its formation in 2014, has grown to over 3,000 members from Santander UK’s staff. This year the Network’s leadership team has expanded to include a new role, Head of Pride Events, with the specific aim of galvanising and coordinating the bank’s involvement in Pride celebrations.
