Santander UK has opened the first of its newly designed customer-centric branches in Tottenham Court Road offering state of the art digital facilities, and an innovative design to place the customer at the centre.
Customers entering the new branch will be greeted in a special reception area and directed to a range of tailored services so they can decide how they want to bank. Facilities include Express Banking with a new ATM wall, counter services for more secure transactions, private interview rooms as well as online banking via new digital workstations.
Martin Bischoff, Managing Director of Santander Retail Distribution said: “The world is changing and so is the way we bank. We wanted to create a branch that is designed around how our customers want to bank; combining traditional banking with modern facilities that places customers at the centre. The new branches offer improved services, an enhanced banking experience and better reflect the needs of the local community.”
The branch also offers a range of state of the art digital services which include access to free wifi, special customer tablets, and digital ATMs, with four inside the branch and a further one accessible 24hrs.
A contemporary seating area with a large video wall provides customers with the bank’s latest initiatives, this includes tips, such as how to avoid being the victim of a scam, as well as up-to-date information on products and services. There is also a personalised picture wall showing the branch’s role in its local community with details of the different initiatives the bank is supporting such as the Santander Foundation grants, Community Days, volunteering and fundraising activities.
The newly designed branch, officially opened by the bank’s Head of Retail and Business Banking and Deputy CEO Javier San Felix, is the first in a series of 20 branches set to be refurbished with the new design in 2017.
To celebrate the branch opening, the bank ran a #SpintoWin competition in Tottenham Court Road on 9th December; where members of the public participated in a special digital game available on tablets. There was also a range of prizes up for grabs including cash prizes of up to £123, available to collect from the branch where staff were also handing out goodies to all visitors. The branch is located at 164-167 Tottenham Court Rd, London W1T 7JE.
