Santander announces partnership with the Foundation for Education Development

Santander has announced its support for the Foundation for Education Development (FED)1, a non-profit organisation established to help shape the future of our education system.

The partnership will see the FED and Santander collaborate on a range of future education projects, including a national strategy for the development of financial wellbeing for students, the FED’s National Report, launching on 9th July, and its National Education Summit later this year.

Carl Ward, Chair of the Foundation for Education Development (FED) commented: “We are thrilled to be working with such an important partner as we prepare to launch our fourth National Education Report, and through it provide government with a framework and architecture to plan long term.  Santander’s passion to support the development of education across the country will see us collaborate on a range of the FED’s Future Education Projects - including a national strategy for the development of Financial Wellbeing for Students.”

Andrew Wilson, Director of Communications, Marketing and Responsible Banking at Santander UK said: “We are proud to be supporting the Foundation for Education Development and their mission to progress the education system in the UK. The FED provides a fantastic platform to bring together stakeholders across the sector, to identify and share best practice, and advocate for change.

“At Santander we have a long-standing commitment to education, employability, entrepreneurship, and ultimately helping the people in our communities prosper. We know the value that strong financial wellbeing has when shaping young people’s futures and I look forward to working with the FED over the next year to shape a new national strategy and point to where we can do more.”
