Santander UK today announced the appointment of John Baldwin as CEO, Corporate and Commercial Banking (CCB) at Santander UK plc. John will join the executive team at Santander UK, reporting to CEO Mike Regnier, and will assume his role in early October, subject to regulatory approval.
John has over thirty years’ banking experience and has worked at Santander UK for the last eleven years, most recently as head of commercial clients. He has also held senior roles in strategy and retail banking and has led teams to develop new banking propositions for public and private sector organisations.
John replaces Tim Hinton who will be retiring after more than six years as CEO of the Corporate and Commercial Banking division. Tim will remain as non-executive chair of Santander Consumer (UK) Ltd.
Santander UK CEO Mike Regnier said: “I am delighted that John will be taking over the leadership of our CCB business and I look forward to welcoming him as a member of ExCo. He brings with him a huge amount of valuable experience and knowledge of the business and has been an integral part of the team that has seen CCB grow rapidly to a position today where it contributes around a third of our profits.
