Home from Home Nursery - a Sussex based nursery, which provides early years education to children aged three months to five years - has purchased a second Worthing site which, as of July this year, will offer an extra 55 places per day for children and hire an additional 10 childcare workers. The investment follows a seven-figure funding package from Santander Business Banking.
The investment from Santander Business Banking has allowed the business to expand its Worthing site. The additional places will allow the business to meet the ever-increasing demand for places and reduce the 18-month waiting list. It is one of the first businesses to switch to Santander since the launch of the Incentivised Switching scheme at the end of February.
Home from Home Nursery is owned and operated by Nicola Law and Julia Pattenden and began with a site in Hove, East Sussex, which has been operating for 15 years and has an Outstanding Ofsted rating. The second nursery in Worthing has been open since 2015 and has been given a Good rating by Ofsted. The ethos of the business is to create a safe warm homely environment where children can happily play and learn; a place of trust where children, parents and staff love to be; where we embrace and care for our local community and the world around us and where children’s health and wellbeing is paramount.
Julia Pattenden, Owner and Operator, Home from Home Worthing Ltd said: “Our open all year-round approach, high staff ratios and unique ethos is extremely popular with parents and is beneficial for the community as it allows parents to work more easily in the area. The funding from Santander has allowed us to meet increasing demand for our unique ethos, offer an enhanced environment for each cohort and will increase our intake by 60%. We have a large waiting list and highly trained practitioners ready to start work.”
James Elwood, Relationship Director, Santander Business Banking, said: “With children in day care nursery myself, I can see the benefit that the Home from Home brand has at its core with pre-primary education. In aiding their expansion, more children have the opportunity to experience this fantastic start in education. The team at Home from Home Nursery are one of our first switchers through the Incentivised Switching Scheme and I would urge others to make the most of the opportunity to benefit from the exceptional service and local relationship teams we have across the UK. There has never been a better time to switch.”
Santander Business Banking has a dedicated team focused on supporting nurseries and childcare providers across the UK and has become a leading provider of finance and support for the sector.
