Cromer & District Foodbank has received £3,907 towards a part-time project coordinator to manage the day-to-day activities of the foodbank.
The donation was provided by the Santander Foundation which offers grants to UK registered charities for projects that help disadvantaged people in local communities.
Cromer & District Foodbank helps provide emergency, essential food items for those in crisis within North Norfolk. The grant will contribute towards the salary of the Operations Coordinator, a professional and essential post to manage day-to-day activities, improve the foodbank’s effectiveness, develop the training and skills of volunteers, and to extend engagement with charity partners.
Michael McMahon at Cromer District Foodbank said: "We are enormously grateful to the Santander Foundation, and to the staff at the Holt branch in particular. This grant will help us to reach and help more local people in need."
Michelle Turner, Branch Manager at Santander’s Holt branch said: “The Santander Foundation makes hundreds of donations every year to good causes throughout the UK. Our branch is committed to playing a key part in the community and we are delighted to be supporting Cromer District Foodbank, and hope the donation makes a real difference to local people.”
