Statera Energy take powerful steps towards low carbon future

Founded in 2015, Statera Energy is a new generation energy company focusing on a scale suitable for use by utility companies. battery energy storage. They build, own and operate a flexible energy infrastructure that balances a renewables-led electricity system. It helps manage fluctuations in the supply and demand of renewable energy to the UK’s electricity grid.

Santander have worked closely with Statera Energy since 2021, supporting with their energy assets portfolio. Statera had ambitious plans to develop a new 50mw battery storage facility in Malmesbury which has the potential to power more than 13,000 homes.

We’re delighted that Santander is supporting Statera’s continued growth. The projects envisaged under this facility will provide a meaningful contribution to the stability and security of the UK’s power system of the future and help us with our contribution to the UK Governments target of a net zero power system by 2035.
